I have a new iOS device and would like to transfer my purchased add-ons and/or app data to it!

If you have a new iOS device, you can restore your purchased add-ons (if any) on it and transfer your app data there.

To restore the purchased add-ons:
First of all, please make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID account which you bought the upgrade with previously. Then, please, open the app, go to the “Add-ons” page and click on “Restore purchases” button at the bottom. After that all of your purchased add-ons will be restored on your device successfully.

If the issue still persists, kindly make sure you have a stable Internet connection, then log out of your Apple ID account, log back in and try to restore your purchase again.

To restore the app data:
You can save your data to iCloud/Dropbox and then restore them from there on a new device – please, kindly go “Settings” > “iCloud/Dropbox”, then turn on “Use iCloud” or “Use Dropbox” and follow on-screen instructions. Please, use the “Upload settings” option to save your data from the old device and the “Download settings” option to load the data on the new device.

Besides, you can send a backup file to your email address on your old device via “Settings” > “Backup” > “Email Backup Now” and then restore it on your new device – just tap “Restore backup” under “Settings” > “Backup” and follow the instructions.

Improving stability and cycle management

In our next version the app will be significantly optimized in the background for stability during sync. Since the changes are only in the background, our goal is that you notice nothing, and the app functions just like before.

Besides improving the stability issue, we will improve the section under Settings > Cycle Settings > Edit Cycles so that you will be able to manage cycles more efficiently.

Currently users can choose only ONE cycle type (Monthly vs. Custom Duration). So, if someone used the app with weekly cycle (Custom duration of 7 days) in January and February, but decided to use monthly cycle from March, the app would reset January and February cycles to become monthly cycles, which is very nontransparent.

Now users will be able to assign multiple cycle settings to various time durations and use cycle settings to create cycles.

Can I change icons for categories?

Currently it’s not possible to change icons for categories that already exist, but we are going to add this opportunity in one of our future releases.

However, you can select an icon while creating a new category – just tap and hold the icon by default and drag it upwards to scroll through the variety of icons available for selection.

I have difficulties while restoring my file via “Backup” option!

If you have emailed a backup file from your iOS device via “Settings” > “Backup” > “Email Backup Now” – then you can save it and restore this file via your PC. You need to put the backup file into the “File Sharing” of the app through iTunes (as per the correspondent instructions with screenshots via “Settings” > “Backup”):

1). Connect your device to a Mac/PC, open iTunes and select your device.

2). Select “Apps” and scroll to “File Sharing” on the right side.

3). Select Daily Budget and drag & drop your backup file into the right field.

Or you can check the detailed instructions on the official Apple’s site:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201301

After that, please, open the app itself, go to Settings > Backup and tap “Restore backup”.

How to enter initial balance/savings?

Currently the app does not take account of savings amount, or any financial information from the past. It just calculates daily budget based on your income, fixed expenses (like rent), and saving goal.

However, savings will become much more flexible and adjustable in one of the next releases as a part of our major Daily Budget 2.0 overhaul and you will be able to transfer funds into savings directly.
